Who is an "Ambassador"?

So who exactly is an Ambassador? Why are we calling our trips, Ambassador Trips? Great questions! Let's begin with the meaning of Ambassador. The definition of an ambassador is: a diplomatic agent of the highest rank, sent by one sovereign government to another sovereign government as a representative of his or her government.

With this in mind, we look to the words of the Apostle Paul when he writes in 2 Corinthians 5:20: We are therefore Christ's Ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us, We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. (NIV).

We believe that not only are we to "visit" the people of Haiti- but be Christ's Ambassadors as well. We are to be as God or Jesus before others; and so much so, that they see His presence in us.

Through a mini learning group prior to the trip, and through team dialogue and prayer, the pre- trip preparations of an Ambassador Trip help prepare your heart and mind for whatever it is you will encounter while in Haiti. It is our prayer that you will begin life-long friendships while in Haiti and learn alot about the issues of injustice facing the people of Haiti. In turn- when you return you will then become an advocate on behalf of the people of Haiti, helping others in your sphere of influence become aware of such issues as well.

At the heart of our Ambassador Trip, we long to encourage and empower the people of Haiti to impact their country for Christ. As we believe in them, and in the power of Christ within them- we pray as well our own lives will be transformed in return.
